Cutting Board Class
Take your woodworking to the next level by making a long grain cutting board! In this class we look at 10 different types of hardwood and decide how to slice them to get the look YOU want. We use the table saw, router, sanders, and go over how to use a jointer/planer in class.

Roubo Style Workbench Class
Come build your own solid Maple Roubo split top work bench. We utilize the best materials including solid maple and all Benchcrafted hardware. This is an heirloom quality workbench designed to handle any project you build. The workbench is the foundation to ALL that you build and this one will not only be the heart and soul of your shop, it’s also a beautiful masterpiece. This is a limited class and will only have one per year. Everything in included.

Workbench Class
This is a very limited class where we help you build your own workbench. We take from Christopher Schwarz design and throw in our own modern flair. We use heavy duty northern pine wood and offer upgrades to the basic class. The basic workbench will be a solid yellow pine top and legs and have Andrew Kleins turbo vise installed as a tail or face vise.
Intermediate to advanced level.

Introduction to Mortise and Tenon Class
Learn how useful this joint is in so many projects. To create furniture, boxes, and so much more. By using this level of joinery you open yourself up to being able to build pieces that will last a lifetime. Come learn what tools to use, how to do layouts, and avoid common mistakes.

Intro to Woodworking
A class built around the needs of our local area. You asked for it, and we made it! A one day course where we cover how to get started in woodworking! What different types, how to purchase wood, a brief description of hardwood species, what tools to use for your interests in woodworking, and most importantly safety. We dive into setup of machines and what hand tools to use in their place. Lastly we discuss the RIGHT steps to get each piece of wood properly dimensioned so each is square and you start with the best chance then of making a beautiful project.

Intro to Woodworking 2
A follow up to Intro 1 where we dive in deeper and go through the milling process, use different styles of joinery and get hands on with the tools to familiarize you with how to use them, how to stay safe for you and those around you. This is a class that will allow you to know what tools you feel best having and using to build the projects YOU want to build and know what NOT to buy. We’ll make a small box in this class utilizing different styles of joinery.

Live Edge Walnut Bench
What to expect: First we’ll look at the different live edge pieces and determine your projects goals. Next we’ll use hand saws to cut the width. We’ll then use hand chisels to take off the bark. We’ll have a choice of hand planes or the sanders next. Other skills will involve measuring and drilling. You’ll leave with a beautiful working finished bench!

3D Cutting Board
In this class we’ll take maple, cherry and walnut and make one of these famous boards! We use a combination of power tools to make this board and end with applying a nice oil finish. We’re one of the only schools teaching this class just because we love everyone’s expression when the see it come together. Such fun!

Dutch Tool Chest
Requirement: Hand joinery class or equivalent required.
The Dutch style tool chest is becoming more and more popular. It’s a great chest to hold your hand tools safely without being so heavy you can’t carry it. It’s a great class to extend your knowledge of furniture joinery including dovetails, dado’s, rabbets, tongue and groove, and mortise and tenon. This is a primarily hand tool based class. It’s best for you to have taken a previous introduction to dovetail and mortise and tenon class but it’s not required. This is definitely one of the most fun builds we do here.
Materials are included. We do offer an upgrade of hand forged hardware as seen on the chest pictured. Please contact Mark for information.

We’ll cover many aspect of woodworking in this predominantly hand tool class. Matt will take you on a journey of woodworking from past centuries and guide you to build your own walnut wall cabinet. Each cabinet will be distinct with some key learning points being:

Electric Guitar Class
Have you ever wanted to just build your own guitar? Learn how to set it up, how to install electronics, fret work and feeling what your future music will sound like? You’ll be building an ash bodied tele style guitar from scratch. This is a very limited class only run during summer months. Sign up early to get a spot! Joiners Chest Class
For centuries carpenters have carried their hand tools to homes and businesses to make fine furniture and art. Our joiners chest is a small version of the Anarchist tool chest and one that can be used for many things. In this class you’ll build your own chest using dovetails, tongue and groove, dado’s for the carcass and skirt You’ll build the rail and stiles panel lid using mortise and tenon joints, tongue and groove, and dovetails. You’ll learn and build your skills on all the joinery in the class. All materials and tools needed are supplied.

Charcuterie Board Class
Come build one of three designs of a charcuterie board from Walnut, maple, or cherry hardwood. This is a beginners class and can be taken individually or as a couple. We’ll be using the band saw to shape the board, drill press, sanders, a router table, and we’ll finish the board with food safe oil. This is a very fun class and takes about 3 hours. Materials and everything included.

Come spend a great day learning different styles of hand planes, how each works, parts of each, a little about vintage planes, and come make some shavings! Learn what a joy it is to take shaving with well setup planes! You’ll realize quickly how effective and efficient they are! beginning to advanced.

Sign Making Class
Do you want to not only have a sign in your home expressing your thoughts, but to also make it yourself? Put nearly anything on it you’d like? In this course using a laser engraver, you can come in and make the wooden sign yourself, and we’ll laser engrave the saying of your choice. We use cherry wood and each sign is approximately 5’ x 12”.

Japanese Style Tool Chest
These are fabulous chest used for centuries and are great chest to hold tools, or almost anything. We build the carcass in this class using cherry and walnut as a highlight. We do a lot of hand plane work along with some machine work to join the box using dado’s and cut nails. You’ll learn some mill techniques, hand planing, making dado’s by hand, and learning how to build understanding wood movement.

Wooden Basket Class
This class is for the individual, couples, or parent/grandparent and child making together. We’ve structured this class to limit exposure to any dangerous tools, and focus on learning about wood, gluing, sanding, and applying a final finish. We use maple, walnut, and cherry wood to build this beautiful basket. You’ll pick out your own wood that’s previously prepared for you, choose where to put it, glue it up over two days/nights and the third day/night apply a final finish and take it home. It could also be great for team building for a company group.

Come make this classic chess board in this three evening class. This mostly power tool class will help you get everything cut straight, parallel, and glued properly. We’ll be using maple and walnut as the contrast wood. WG Carlough will be the instructor on this class and brings over 20 years of instructing experience.

Introduction to Wood Turning
We talk in depth of the different types of turning, the tools you’ll need for your projects, the materials you’ll need, ways to mount your material, where to purchase all of the above, and more. We’ll demonstrate turning a bowl and do so using multiple tools so you can decide what’s right for you. We’ll talk sanding and finish and show you how each has benefits and drawbacks. You’ll come back after a break and we’ll discuss all of the above but with a focus on pens. Then we’ll take turns helping each other make your own pen to take home. This is a great class for anyone looking to turn wood on a lathe, and a great class for people who may have started but don’t know what all they’ll need. This is a great class to take before taking the wood bowl class.
River Board Class
This is a great class to take after the learn to epoxy class and an absolutely beautiful piece your friends and family will rave about. We use 3/4” thick live edge walnut and just about any epoxy color you can think of! We focus on prep work, sanding to get a proper finish, and applying an oil wax finish in the class. Learn how to avoid the bubbles, getting the look you want while not making costly rookie mistakes. Max class size 4.
