What to bring: Eye protection, ear protection, dust protection, closed toed shoes.. Any personal hand tool you’d like.

What to expect: We’ll go over the different styles of saws, chisels, marking gauges, dividers, marking knifes, planes, and mallets. We’ll do some basic cuts with different types of saws, see how each chisel has its place, demonstrate the efficiency of marking gauges, show how to layout a dovetail, and demonstrate how to use some hand planes. This is mostly a demonstrative course designed to get someone started in hand working wood, starting with the basic foundation of knowing what each tool does. You’ll leave with some wood shavings on you!
