    Come make this very cute 3D Christmas tree! We make it out of poplar wood so it’s ready for you to take home and paint! We made the class with the intent to have almost any age and skill set to be able to build one. Most of the tree is pre cut here at the school, all you need to do is glue it to put it together!   • November 9 & 10, 2024 9am – 5pm each day

    This class is for beginners and people with previous experience that want to learn the process, tools, and materials to safely build hand made furniture. We each build our own side table from locally sourced cherry. We have a base prototype but everyone has the opportunity to make some small changes in the design. You’ll be using many foundation tools including powered tools, and hand tools. We’ll go through the proper use of all the tools, setups, and most of all safety. It’s a great and fun project to get you started in hand made woodworking projects.
    Max 6 students.

    Come build one of three designs of a charcuterie board from Walnut, maple, or cherry hardwood. This is a beginners class and can be taken individually or as a couple. We’ll be using the band saw to shape the board, drill press, sanders, a router table, and we’ll finish the board with food safe oil. This is a very fun class and takes about 3 hours. Materials and everything included.

    Come learn how to turn a Christmas tree on a wood lathe! These are great little trees that can be hung or can sit on their own. A one hour class to a make the tree, and you’ll take it home and paint it as you like! Max 6 people. Cost $35

Turned on a lathe in a similar way as we make pens, you’ll learn how to turn on a lathe and you’ll bring home a beautiful brass, and Padauk Christmas ornament ready to hang or give to friends and family. Max 6 people Cost $75

    Take your woodworking to the next level by making a long grain cutting board! In this class we look at 10 different types of hardwood and decide how to slice them to get the look YOU want. We use the table saw, router, sanders, and go over how to use a jointer/planer in class. Beginning to intermediate level 2 nights, 2 hours each.
  • November 5, 6, & 7, 2024 7pm – 9pm each night

    In this class you’ll be building one of three designs you pick from. End grain cutting boards are a far more unique looking board then your standard cutting board, and are better for your knives. This is a three evening class where you’ll learn to glue up, use a sled on a table saw, use a jointer, use a router, sand, and apply a finish. You’ll leave with a beautiful board of your own using local and exotic species of wood.
    Cost is $185 which covers everything including materials, shop time, and professional instruction.

    A class built around the needs of our local area. You asked for it, and we made it! A one day course where we cover how to get started in woodworking! What different types, how to purchase wood, a brief description of hardwood species, what tools to use for your interests in woodworking, and most importantly safety. We dive into setup of machines and what hand tools to use in their place. Lastly we discuss the RIGHT steps to get each piece of wood properly dimensioned so each is square and you start with the best chance then of making a beautiful project. Beginning to intermediate level 1 day 6 hour class
  • October 27, 2024 9am - 5pm

    A follow up to Intro 1 where we dive in deeper and go through the milling process, use different styles of joinery and get hands on with the tools to familiarize you with how to use them, how to stay safe for you and those around you. This is a class that will allow you to know what tools you feel best having and using to build the projects YOU want to build and know what NOT to buy. We’ll make a small cherry and walnut box in this class utilizing different styles of joinery.
  • October 8, 15, 22, & 29, 2024 6pm - 9pm - each night

    These are fabulous chest used for centuries and are great chest to hold tools, or almost anything. We build the carcass in this class using cherry and walnut as a highlight. We do a lot of hand plane work along with some machine work to join the box using dado’s and cut nails. You’ll learn some mill techniques, hand planing, making dado’s by hand, and learning how to build understanding wood movement. Intermediate level class/ 4 day class

    This is a demonstration class designed to show you the ins and outs of using Epoxy in your projects! A lot of fun and a predecessor to the upcoming river table class. Beginning to intermediate class.

    These are super cute and are made on a wood lathe. We have 2 designs to choose from, one that hangs on a tree, the other that can sit on a table, you pick! Max 6 people. Cost $75  
  • December 1 & 8, 2024 6pm - 9pm each night

    This is a great class to take after the learn to epoxy class and an absolutely beautiful piece your friends and family will rave about. We use 3/4” thick live edge walnut and just about any epoxy color you can think of! We focus on prep work, sanding to get a proper finish, and applying an oil wax finish in the class. Learn how to avoid the bubbles, getting the look you want while not making costly rookie mistakes. Max class size 4.
