• What to expect: The first part we discuss and show the 12 different types of wood that are available. We then show how to use a table saw correctly and safely. We go right into glue up. The second half we show you how to use a planer and belt sander. We then pick an edging style and show you how to use a router table. We then show you how to use an orbital sander. Finally, we oil up the board to protect and bring out the natural grain. Lastly bring home your new custom cutting board! 
  • De-mystify this joint that’s been used for centuries. Learn to saw properly, how to use hand tools to get those crisp edges we all drool over when we see them. We’ll discuss how to do layouts, which steps are most critically and give you some great little hints to make your joints strong first of all, then pretty. It’s a very fun, challenging and relaxing class. We’ve even got a list of what we consider are the bare essentials for hand joinery.

    Learn the art of using a lathe! We’ll be turning bowls on a lathe to get you familiar with the tools, and so you can turn a beautiful bowl! We’ll be making them out of either cherry, or black limba and you’ll take home a fully finished bowl ready to use! It’s much more fun to eat ice cream from you own hand made bowl! Cost is $130 which includes everything including materials, shop time, and professional instruction. Max class size is 3 Beginner to intermediate    
  • Come build one of three designs of a charcuterie board from Walnut, maple, or cherry hardwood. This is a beginners class and can be taken individually or as a couple. We’ll be using the band saw to shape the board, drill press, sanders, a router table, and we’ll finish the board with food safe oil. This is a very fun class and takes about 3 hours. Materials and everything included.

  • Take your woodworking to the next level by making a long grain cutting board! In this class we look at 10 different types of hardwood and decide how to slice them to get the look YOU want. We use the table saw, router, sanders, and go over how to use a jointer/planer in class.
  • These are fabulous chest used for centuries and are great chest to hold tools, or almost anything. We build the carcass in this class using cherry and walnut as a highlight. We do a lot of hand plane work along with some machine work to join the box using dado’s and cut nails. You’ll learn some mill techniques, hand planing, making dado’s by hand, and learning how to build understanding wood movement.
  • Learn to use hand tools properly to cut this joint used for literally centuries. We’ll show you how to do to layouts, what tools you’ll need, and the techniques to make your own dovetail joint. You’ll leave here with your own jointed boards, and the knowledge to now build almost any type of furniture using this joint.
  • A class built around the needs of our local area. You asked for it, and we made it! A one day course where we cover how to get started in woodworking! What different types, how to purchase wood, a brief description of hardwood species, what tools to use for your interests in woodworking, and most importantly safety. We dive into setup of machines and what hand tools to use in their place. Lastly we discuss the RIGHT steps to get each piece of wood properly dimensioned so each is square and you start with the best chance then of making a beautiful project.
  • This one evening class is designed for beginners to learn a bit of woodworking and make their own charcuterie board! We’ll help! We can show you and help you with every step of the way. Come have fun and show your friends and family what you’ve made!
  • Taking our hand plane class is a great way to learn how to use your hand planes, and choose which planes you need for their intended uses. One of the most crucial parts of any hand plane is setup and sharpening. We’ll demonstrate each of these throughout the course of the day. We talk about different styles and brands, there intended uses, their maintenance needs, and a little bit of history. This is a full day class with both demonstrations and hands on work. If you are new to woodworking and want to get into hand tools, or are experienced but not quite sure why your tools don’t perform as they should, this is a great and very fun class to take.
  • In this 3 night course we’ll teach you how to cut and glue up maple, cherry, and walnut to make a hardwood 3D cutting board. All materials are supplied and you leave with a beautiful cutting board of your making. We’ll be using the band saw, router table, sanders, planer, and glue and clamps.
