Well be building a Japanese style tool chest out of cherry wood using only hand planes a hand saw and a hammer. These are cool boxes with tons of different uses. You’ll leave the class with the desire to spend hours using a hand plane on whatever you can find.

Very similar to what’s used in pictures, or doors on cupboards. Another fun and relaxing class but one essential to growing your skills. A good course to take before the intermediate and advanced courses.

  • For centuries carpenters have carried their hand tools to homes and businesses to make fine furniture and art. Our Joiners chest is a small version of the Anarchist tool chest and one that can be used for many things. In this class you’ll build an entire chest using dovetails, tongue and grooves, dado’s, for the carcass and skirt. You’ll build a rail and stiles panel lid using mortise and tenon joints, tongue and groove, and dovetails. It’s a beautiful chest that can be used for many things, but the skills you’ll acquire here while building it will open you up to build many other projects in future. All the materials and tools needed are supplied.

  • We’ll build our own bodies from Ash wood starting from a block of wood to a finely shaped guitar body. We’ll route the guitar for pickups, for the hard maple neck, all the electronics, and install the hardware. We go over the installation of the neck, solder the electronics, Install the tuners, install the neck nut, bridge, and go over how to setup the guitar properly to get it just like you like it! The cost of the class includes Ash body, mighty mite tele neck, hardware, pickups, switches, and cover plate.

We’ll even go into spoon carving where each student will get to start their own spoon! Very fun and informative one day class.
  • Taking our hand plane class is a great way to learn how to use your hand planes, and choose which planes you need for their intended uses. One of the most crucial parts of any hand plane is setup and sharpening. We’ll demonstrate each of these throughout the course of the day. We talk about different styles and brands, there intended uses, their maintenance needs, and a little bit of history. This is a full day class with both demonstrations and hands on work. If you are new to woodworking and want to get into hand tools, or are experienced but not quite sure why your tools don’t perform as they should, this is a great and very fun class to take.

  • Come and learn how to use epoxy to add accents and beyond to your woodworking. Emphasis is put on types of epoxy and how to use them for each piece. We’ll cover the ins and outs of whats best for each style of woodworking. This class is intended for the woodworker who wants to add that little bit of flair to their wood projects. We’ll make small charcuterie boards in this 2 night course to use what you learn.
  • In the class we’ll demonstrate different oil finishes, some you know, and some you might not. We’ll discuss their structure, safety, best application methods, and what each is best suited for. You’ll leave with an outstanding knowledge of how to apply a better finish for each of your upcoming projects.
