What to expect: The first part we discuss and show the 12 different types of wood that are available. We then show how to use a table saw correctly and safely. We go right into glue up. The second half we show you how to use a planer and belt sander. We then pick an edging style and show you how to use a router table. We then show you how to use an orbital sander. Finally, we oil up the board to protect and bring out the natural grain. Lastly bring home your new custom cutting board!

Spend a day learning how to make a Walnut Mitered box. We do a lot of demonstration how to cut miters properly, how to use a shooting plane, how to cut splines to add strength to your miters, how to make liners, how to maintain grain direction in a box, and final finish and sanding. This class is intended as a hands on demonstration. The boxes we build will be sent to Lemons Of Love. They will donate the boxes to cancer survivors as a a keepsake box. You will get the knowledge on how to build them, get to have a hands on experience, and you’ll leave with enough walnut to build your own.

During this class we will demonstrate and display every step required for you to build your own 3d cutting board. We’ll go over the use of the machines and materials for you to learn the best way to build these beautiful boards.

April 5 & 6, 2025 9am – 5pm each day
This class is for beginners and people with previous experience that want to learn the process, tools, and materials to safely build hand made furniture. We each build our own side table from locally sourced cherry. We have a base prototype but everyone has the opportunity to make some small changes in the design. You’ll be using many foundation tools including powered tools, and hand tools. We’ll go through the proper use of all the tools, setups, and most of all safety. It’s a great and fun project to get you started in hand made woodworking projects.Max 6 students. -
March 11 & 12, 2024 6pm - 9pm each night
Take your woodworking to the next level by making a long grain cutting board! In this class we look at 10 different types of hardwood and decide how to slice them to get the look YOU want. We use the table saw, router, sanders, and go over how to use a jointer/planer in class. Beginning to intermediate level 2 nights, 2 hours each. -
March 22, 2025 6pm - 9pm
Learn the art of using a lathe! We’ll be turning bowls on a lathe to get you familiar with the tools, and so you can turn a beautiful bowl! We’ll be making them out of either cherry, or black limba and you’ll take home a fully finished bowl ready to use! It’s much more fun to eat ice cream from you own hand made bowl! March 20, 2025 6pm – 8pm
Come build one of three designs of a charcuterie board from Walnut, maple, or cherry hardwood. This is a beginners class and can be taken individually or as a couple. We’ll be using the band saw to shape the board, drill press, sanders, a router table, and we’ll finish the board with food safe oil. This is a very fun class and takes about 3 hours. Materials and everything included. -
March 15 & 16, 2025 9am – 5pm each day
This weekend class is designed to familiarize you with many joints popular today in woodworking. We’ll be making dovetails by hand, and by band saw. We’ll show multiple ways to make a mortise and tenon joint. We’ll talk and demonstrate dado and rabbet joints. You’ll have a fun weekend and learn what joinery works best for your projects, what tools you need, and skills to get then done well. Max 8 people. Cost $350 -
March 9, 2025 9am - 4pm
A follow up to Intro 1 where we dive in deeper and go through the milling process, use different styles of joinery and get hands on with the tools to familiarize you with how to use them, how to stay safe for you and those around you. This is a class that will allow you to know what tools you feel best having and using to build the projects YOU want to build and know what NOT to buy. We’ll make a small cherry and walnut box in this class utilizing different styles of joinery. -

A class built around the needs of our local area. You asked for it, and we made it! A one day course where we cover how to get started in woodworking! What different types, how to purchase wood, a brief description of hardwood species, what tools to use for your interests in woodworking, and most importantly safety. We dive into setup of machines and what hand tools to use in their place. Lastly we discuss the RIGHT steps to get each piece of wood properly dimensioned so each is square and you start with the best chance then of making a beautiful project. Come turn your own pen on a wood lathe! This is a beginning level class designed to not only make your own pen, but try your hand at wood turning. They are a lot of fun to make, make wonderful gifts, and there’s nothing like sculpting your own pen by your hand, for your own hand!! We have over 30 varieties of wood to choose from and we’ll take you start to finish so you take home your own hand made pen, but also know how to do it all on your own in future.Cost is $79 which includes all materials, shop time, and professional instruction.Max 4 people. 2 hour class
