We’ll break for lunch then come back and begin to build a tool tote from cherry wood. You’ll leave with the confidence to start your own projects and what you’ll need to accomplish them. Taking our hand plane class is a great way to learn how to use your hand planes, and choose which planes you need for their intended uses. One of the most crucial parts of any hand plane is setup and sharpening. We’ll demonstrate each of these throughout the course of the day. We talk about different styles and brands, there intended uses, their maintenance needs, and a little bit of history. This is a full day class with both demonstrations and hands on work. If you are new to woodworking and want to get into hand tools, or are experienced but not quite sure why your tools don’t perform as they should, this is a great and very fun class to take.
